St. Johns Virtual School Application

All eligible students in grades K-12 have the right to participate in full-time and part-time virtual instruction programs (VIP). Primary virtual curriculum options available through St. Johns County Virtual School includes, your District virtual instruction provider (SJVS our FLVS franchise and curriculum partner k12, Inc.), Brevard County Virtual School Partnership, or the statewide Florida Virtual School.  If you are interested in participating in a VIP program as a full-time student, please contact St. Johns Virtual School at 904-8089 or visit www-sjvs.stjohns.k12.fl.us for eligibility, application and more information on the VIP program options in St. Johns County.   You will select your option during the enrollment process.

Enrollment

To enroll your elementary student in this program, first, contact k12, Inc. to obtain more information about their program and to determine if it is the right program for you. k12 Inc. will guide you through the registration process on their website, but you must also register with our school district in order for us to approve your enrollment with k12 Inc. To do this, please contact our office at (904) 547-8089. Your enrollment with k12 Inc. will be on hold until you complete all necessary St. Johns County School District enrollment information.

The Basics

Parents may now choose a full-time virtual option for their elementary students, which means their students will work from home on a virtual curriculum with the guidance of a State of Florida certified local teacher. We encourage parents to research this option in depth before enrolling your student. This is different from home education and if you are interested in home eduction, more information may be found on the St. Johns County Home Education website.

Eligibility

Florida Statute 1002.45 established full-time virtual school options for students in grades K-12. Students are eligible if: (a)  The student is a dependent child of a member of the United States Armed Forces who was transferred within the last 12 months to this state from another state or from a foreign country pursuant to the parent’s permanent change of station orders. (b)  The student was enrolled during the prior school year in a school district virtual instruction program under this section or a K-8 Virtual School Program under s.1002.415.

Curriculum Information

Currently, St. Johns County School District has provided 3 options for elementary families.  The district has partnerships with K12, Inc., FLVS, and Brevard County Virtual School.  For more information regarding these programs, please call 904-547-8086.
